Last twelvemonth i closed my pool.. put an inner tube in the centre.. (which to me didnt seem big enough), forget what size.. for my intex 18 foot.. with deck effectually it.

Biggest effect i had was clamping down the side nether the deck.. next to impossible to get the wire around that crack where it overhangs slightly.. and as well hard to weigh downwards weights.

I used bleach bottles filled with water.. perhaps four or 5 on the deck gratuitous part.. and 1 or ii under the deck..
We become very strong winds in the winter.. possibly 50mph.. at times the cover by february, was half diddled ontop of itself, pushed away.. ropes snapped (granted i was using thin nylon kite cord) on a few bottles likewise.

What are some alternative means of doing this..

Any culling suggestions for the inflatable underneith.. the pillow i see on amazon has bad reviews.

What most tent stakes in the basis.. any certain type/model that should stick in there well plenty? I see some on amazon, simply i'thou non sure on how stiff they are with their hold.
Any recommendations on model/size rope to use (assuming nylon cord of some kind or maybe even more expensive bungies?)

I saw a wrap mentioned.. but information technology would probably be very hard or impossible to wrap around the outer border the whole way.

I'chiliad leaning towards maybe six-10 stakes in the basis with some kind of nylon rope to the grommets this yr.

Thanks in advance

Hello from Buffalo, NY! I too had the current of air issue years ago. What I do is go 1 size bigger for my pool embrace (28' cover on my 24' pool). That with the steel cable wrapped around and almost half-dozen gal jugs spaced evenly around. I make sure to tie them through both the grommet and cable. I apply a cheap puddle pillow beneath (covering the plug with duct tape after inflating), but usually only get a yr or ii from the pillow.

I tin run into the embrace rising and falling up the sides depending on wind speeds over the wintertime (the six jugs seem to exist plenty to slide it back down when the current of air dies downwards)(I haven't had any bug with the cable scraping the posts considering it's vinyl coated). Never had it blow completely off since going bigger. In my pic you lot can notice the jugs on the table ready to become. Hope this might give y'all an idea and/or option!!!

Skillful Luck !!!

Thank you for that tip..

I may do the same.. become bigger.. 21 instead of 18 foot cover for the 18, sick defniitely try spikes in the ground / and or the jugs too.. i dont call up i used enough last year.. i found 10 spikes online for around $twenty and i'chiliad going to run the cable through them virtually direct up to the cover.. i thought most putting them outside perchance 2 feet from the inner ring of stone effectually my puddle, merely i retrieve more directly beneath, ala jug style will work better.. or i could return them and simply use more jugs as well :)

I use these ii" spring clamps from abode depot, they are similar $i each. I use 10 for my 15 foot above ground pool. Works bang-up.

We hang jugs of water tied with twine from the grommets and no cable. On the deck portion, nosotros lay the shallow cease portion of the embrace on the deck and put the ladder/stairs weights on acme of the cover. Holds information technology in place well.

I probably should have went the route of the bigger encompass this yr (21 instead of 18) but i chose to get with the old 1 for now.. i managed to get a good line around the pool this fourth dimension, under the deck too, used the spikes in ground..

However.. 2 things.. the middle inflatable moved on me at some bespeak.. is this ok, but so long as its in in that location..

The other thing is.. every bit in the pic, i now have a lake of h2o on top which volition merely abound and pull it down more.. last twelvemonth i tried poking small holes in the cover to let it flow under, but since it sits on the h2o at those points, it does no good.. any ways to become around this or just hope for the best in the coming months?

Articulate three/eight tubing inside of PVC or plastic conduit. Clear so y'all can see the h2o. Inside pipe to keep straight and hold downwardly in water.
